Supporting military-connected students in all facets of university life is critical to create an environment conducive to learning and development, and the field of student affairs and higher education as a whole will benefit from the expertise of passionate and dedicated military-connected professionals.

We invite you to join us in February to optimize your own programs and services, learn from like-minded professionals, and expand your own wealth of knowledge in support of military connected students. What are potential barriers to success that students with multiple identities face when attempting to receive services from campus resource centers?

How are you working to identify and understand the significance of cross-campus collaboration and partnership? What is your campus doing to meet the needs of military-connected students with mental health concerns, and engage in critical discourse about inclusive campus student-veteran support practices? Examine interconnected methods to ensure the integration of military-connected students into the academic and social culture of colleges and universities.

What are best or promising practices to engage faculty and cross-campus partners in support of military-connected students. How are you challenging students, staff, and faculty to examine personalities, biases, and perspectives as it relates to military-connected students?

Explore the possibility of treating military connected services much like cultural centers and receiving funding, resources, etc. What are some advantages and disadvantages of establishing centralized or collaborative models for military connected services: which model works better for students?

DEI, vs. Ad Hoc, etc. Are there advantages and disadvantages? What are challenges and obstacles for marginalized military-connected students? Seeking ways to ensure access, voice, acknowledgement, opportunity, and participation at all levels. Supporting research and scholarship to add to the knowledge base of the profession and ensure that data informs practice. What has the pandemic revealed that was always there and how can we courageously address those challenges now? What did you learn about yourself, your values, and your work during this time? What did your division, department, and colleagues collectively learn about one another?

What are the ways mental health and well-being can be prioritized in student affairs? How can we ensure that this happens at all levels and in all areas of higher education? How do we facilitate conversations about justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion without retraumatizing systemically marginalized communities and without unintentionally shaming privileged student affairs professionals?

Program reviewers rely on a well-written description to enhance their understanding of the content and goals of the presentation. A complete description includes background information, an overview of the presentation, and a description of the format.

If the program is reporting research, a description of methods, findings and recommendations may be appropriate. Having clearly defined goals and outcomes for your presentation will clarify your expectations, will make it easier for you to check for understanding and competency achieved by your participants, and will help the participants stay focused and engaged.

Consider writing outcomes that span the full range of cognitive processes, as described in Bloom's Revised Taxonomy Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating, Creating.
