We have identical systems and are both using SEP No proxies. About a month ago he started getting Microsoft Update error ee2 when running windows update with SEP enabled. Disabling SEP he gets the updates without error.

Adding recommended exceptions to Symantec Endpoint Threat Protection trusted domains did not resolve. Uninstalled and reinstalled SEP and problem solved.

I did a search to no avail and also tried to reinstall Windows Update got a message saying it was already installed? Any suggestions? One of them, solved the problem itself no idea , the oher one, when I followed your steps, said that the updates where no longer needed to install and the option to look for other updates dissapeared.
